PRIVATE STAYS AT DOMAINE DE LA VÈNE
The whole domaine,
just your group.
STAYING AT THE DOMAINE
Experience a memorable stay at Domaine de la Vène - a private home, not a hotel.
With uniquely curated rooms, flagstone flooring, antique furniture, and views of breathtaking beauty, Domaine de la Vène offers guests everything you would need for a restorative and unforgettable retreat.
Tastefully decorated with an elegant collection of Georgian, Victorian, and French antique furniture, as well as oil paintings and inherited family portraits that have been collected over the years by James and Phillipa, this country house is replete with unique touches throughout its spacious rooms. And during the hot summer months, Domaine de la Vène’s thick walls ensure the house remains fresh and cool throughout the day.
THE ACCOMMODATION
Eleven bedrooms,
across two buildings.
The main house sleeps up to sixteen guests across eight beautifully appointed bedrooms, with seven bathrooms, two drawing rooms each with a fireplace, two fully equipped kitchens, and a cinema room with surround sound. The adjoining Bergerie Cottage sleeps a further six guests across three bedrooms, with its own kitchen, sitting room, and private courtyard.
YOUR EXPERIENCE AT THE DOMAINE
Good food, expansive grounds, and
a rich local region
FOOD & DRINK
Three kitchens and one of the best culinary regions in France
The domaine has three fully equipped kitchens, including a professional Château Cornue cooker and a long dining table that seats sixteen. A private chef can be arranged on request. For dining experiences beyond the domaine, the Languedoc is one of the finest food and wine regions in France, with Michelin-starred restaurants within easy reach.
Ten acres of garden, and 630 acres beyond
Enjoy a beautifully maintained ten-acre garden with a large pool, stone terracing, and shaded dining areas. The pool has a sound system and the grounds can be floodlit at night for relaxed evening gatherings. Beyond the garden, 630 acres of protected conservation land is home to expansive meadows, cedar forest, and hillsides covered in thyme, rosemary, and lavender.
Real France. Without the crowds.
The Corbières is one of the most unspoilt parts of southern France, with all the warmth of the Mediterranean climate, but without the crowds of other similar regions. Carcassonne is twenty minutes away, the coast is under an hour away, and opportunities for cycling, hiking, horse riding, wine tastings, and cultural landmarks are all on your doorstep.
