THE ESTATE

A private domaine in the Corbières hills, set amongst acres of unspoilt Mediterranean landscape. 

Domaine de la Vène is a family home in the foothills of the Pyrenees, discovered by James and his family in 1999 and restored slowly and thoughtfully over the years that followed. Furnished with Georgian, Victorian, and French antique pieces gathered over a lifetime of travel and curiosity, the result is a home that feels both grand and full of character.

The estate sleeps twenty-two guests across the main house and the adjoining Bergerie Cottage, and works beautifully in every season, from the long, warm days of summer to the cooler months when three fireplaces make it just as welcoming an escape.

The house, the grounds, the pool, and the terraces are all exclusively yours for the duration of your stay. There are no shared spaces, no other guests, and no schedule to follow.

The domaine has been James and his family’s home since 1999 and that sense of personal care runs through everything, from the antiques on the walls to the welcome you receive on arrival.

THE ACCOMMODATION

Eleven bedrooms,
across two buildings.

The main house sleeps up to sixteen guests across eight beautifully appointed bedrooms, with seven bathrooms, two drawing rooms each with a fireplace, two fully equipped kitchens, and a cinema room with surround sound. The adjoining Bergerie Cottage sleeps a further six guests across three bedrooms, with its own kitchen, sitting room, and private courtyard.
