DIRECTIONS

When travelling to Domaine, please do not use digital navigation – please use the instructions below.

From whichever airport you land, please put the village of ‘Palaja’ into your GPS or navigation system. If you are coming from Barcelona, direct trains frequently depart from Barcelona Sants railway station to Carcassonne. Importantly, do not go via the village of Trèbes and Montirat to get to the Domaine. This route is not accessible.

When you arrive at Palaja (having passed through a village called Cazilhac 6 min south of Carcassonne and the old citadel), continue along the main road going around the first small roundabout until you reach a much larger roundabout by a small commercial centre.

Directions

  1. Take the D42 road heading south (first exit on the roundabout), sign-posted Mas des Cours and Fajac.

  2. Keep going on this winding road climbing the hill for about 8 min until you pass a large white farmhouse called Montgrand on a left-hand corner of the main D42 road.

  3. Still on the main road, you have exactly 1 km to go until you will see the entrance to our tarmacked driveway on the left, which is sign-posted ‘Domaine de la Vène’; this is the only road in the vicinity.

  4. If you get to the top of the hill and are still on the main road, and start descending the other side, you’ve gone 1 km too far; turn back and you will soon clearly see looking north the large ochre-coloured house and a collection of farm buildings down the hill about 1 km away to your right.

  5. Our driveway descends a hill for about 1 km until you go past a green electric gate.

  6. Immediately after the green gate take the track on the left; then, follow the track for 1⁄2 km to the car park.
