YOUR OWN PRIVATE NATURE RESERVE

Surrounded by 630 acres of spectacular landscapes, Domaine de la Vène is renowned for its extraordinary views, natural landscapes, and wildlife.

Visitors of Domaine will find no shortage of scenic walks and tranquil picnic spots amongst beautiful meadows, thyme, rosemary, and lavender-covered hillsides, forests, vineyards, cedar trees, and olive groves – all of which can be floodlit at night. The ideal setting for eco-friendly escapes, Domaine’s surrounding countryside is a fauna and flora conservation zone, with the habitat surrounding the estate being mainly a mixture of garrigue and coniferous pine forest. The limestone chalky soils also produce an outstanding environment for unique flora, with many species of rare wild orchids present on the estate. The area is also truly remarkable for bird-watching, and we make every effort to attract as many species as possible. We encourage ecologists to carry out their research on the Domaine and, with their help, we monitor the number of birds.

Explore our Gardens

The main villa and cottage are set in a beautifully maintained 10-acre garden, which features extensive lawns, a large pool, and pool house. Surrounded by stone terracing and plenty of sun loungers, visitors can enjoy wonderful views of the sun-baked hillsides of the estate and, over the distant plains and hills, the Minervois region is visible, towards the Mediterranean.

During your stay, you can relax in total tranquillity by the pool and soak up the French sun, or enjoy lively lunches, BBQs, and drinks parties in the dappled shade of the many shaded dining areas. The deep, ultra-marine diving pool has a large shallow end (1.2 m deep), which is perfect for children. The pool area also features a sound system with two microphones that can be connected to any smart phone – ideal for playing music as loud as you want, given that the nearest neighbours are more than 2.5 km away!
